The purpose of Ultrasound Society of Pakistan is to promote the highest possible standards of medical ultrasound in Pakistan, to assist in the dissemination of scientific information and to provide education in this specialty. The objectives of the society are:
                                                
Ø To advance, encourage and assist education and research in diagnostic ultrasound.
Ø To Focus the efforts of broadly based multi-disciplinary groups in bringing together a range of views, skills and experience involving all aspects of diagnostic ultrasound.
Ø The advancement of education in ultrasound and provision of advice and information to the doctors in this field and other allied sciences.
Ø To arrange technical and teaching seminars and clinical meetings.
Ø To encourage continuing medical education in the field of diagnostic ultrasound.
Ø To provide a forum for social interaction and good fellowship among doctors in this field.
Ø To make sure that the breadth of experience and expertise found within the USP is unequalled by any other organization in this field.
Ø To establish and maintain high standard of education and training.
